Knights Templar Masonic Sword w/Scabbard
Knights Templar Sword. The sword's pommel depicts a knight's head. The grip is ivory and has a stylized Christian cross The Henderson Ames Co. Kalamazoo Michigan. The ornate blade depicts crusader scenes and is engraved with the owner's name.
Frank Henderson, Kalamazoo, Michigan, began selling and manufacturing swords and regalia in 1850. In 1871 he partnered with Theron F. Giddings and in 1873 resumed trade as Frank Henderson. Then he began association with the Ames Sword Company and in 1893 formed the Henderson-Ames Company. After Henderson's death in 1899 the company continued until 1923 when it was purchased by M. C. Lilley & Co.
