Description

Vintage Authentic Japanese Uchikake Wedding Kimono. Bright Red silk with embroidered Gold, Blue and White Floral Motif. Uchikake is an ornate wedding coat with a long padded trail, which Japanese bride wear during the wedding ceremony. It is worn like a robe without obi over another kimono, called `kakeshita', which is tied with obi. For your consideration is this amazing Japanese uchitake, which has embroidery with large spokes of a wheel from a flower cart overladen with metallic threads of gold and silver.  Flowers embroidered represent Ideals of marriage: plum blossoms symbolize perseverance and hope, as well as beauty, purity and the transitoryness of life; chrysanthemum means nobility, trust and purity; rose symbolizes romance; carnation - love, and bellflower - unchanging love, honesty, obedience. Vibrant colors make this an incredible piece of art and an outstanding wall display.
