Description

Antique Nickel Plated Brass, Renaissance Pattern, National Cash Register with Ribbon on Cash Drawer. Factory Number S59 500, Size 47 Number. The Drawer does open and the bells still ring when the "No Sale" Button is pushed. This also comes with the key. The marble ledge on the front was used to tap coins to rule out forgeries that made a different sound to genuine currency and this piece is included but not attached at this time. Also there is no longer a glass plate on very top of register. The factory number has an "S" before the serial number which means it is a factory re-manufactured machine. The pattern was designed by Tiffany & Co. for the National Company of Dayton, Ohio. The casing is made of solid brass & then coated in Nickel, which made it very heavy & harder to steal! This is a very heavy piece. This piece was originally found by the owner in the 1950’s from a Millionaire's Row Mansion which is The Southworth Mansion located at 3334 Prospect Avenue.
