Description
  • The taller vase named ‘Capisserle de Bayeux’ made in France by Limoges depicts the Bayeux Tapestry.  The Bayeux Tapestry is a masterpiece of 11th century Romanesque art, The Tapestry tells the story of the events surrounding the conquest of England by the Duke of Normandy.  This vase depict events in part, leading up to the Norman conquest of England concerning William, Duke of Normandy, and Harold, Earl of Wessex, later King of England, and culminating in the Battle of Hastings.  The words, very loosely translated, says ‘Here, Duke William, with Harold, came to Lativ Suu.  RU. M:We’re going’. (9”h x 4.5” diameter).
  • The smaller vase with die cut outs, laced with pink flowers and vibrant green leave, is from the Barrington Collection by Lenox.  Made in the USA (7”h x 4”diameter)
  • The elegant canister is copyrighted 84 by Aynsley, Fine English Bone China.  It is made in England, titled ‘Little Sweetheart’.  Beautifully adorned with powder pink and light bluish/lavender flowers, accented by light green leaves. (7.5”h x 5” dia.)
